EP #040: The LinkedIn Content Formula That Works
If you’ve ever stared at a blank LinkedIn post box, wondering what the hell to write, you’re not alone.
Most executives I work with struggle with this. They know they should be active, but they don’t have time to figure out what works.
So today, I’m giving you the exact LinkedIn Content Formula that works for CEOs, founders, and executives who want to grow their influence—without wasting time.
🔹 The 3-Part LinkedIn Content Formula
A high-performing LinkedIn post does three things:
1️⃣ Stops the Scroll – A strong first line that grabs attention.
2️⃣ Keeps People Reading – Engaging, easy-to-read content.
3️⃣ Drives Action – A clear takeaway or next step.
Let’s break this down.
✅ Step 1: Stop the Scroll
Your first line determines if people read your post or keep scrolling. A good hook:
• Challenges a belief: “Most people get this wrong about leadership…”
• Creates curiosity: “I almost walked away from my biggest opportunity because of one mistake…”
• States a bold opinion: “Hiring for ‘culture fit’ is a terrible idea.”
✅ Step 2: Keep People Reading
Once you have their attention, make your content skimmable and engaging:
✔ Use short paragraphs (1-2 sentences max)
✔ Break up text with line breaks
✔ Use lists & bullet points (like these!)
✔ Tell a quick story or share a personal insight
✅ Step 3: Drive Action
A LinkedIn post isn’t just about sharing—it should lead somewhere.
• Want engagement? End with a question.
• Example: “What’s your take? Drop a comment below.”
• Want visibility? Encourage reactions.
• Example: “If this resonates, hit the ‘👍’ so more people see it.”
• Want leads? Mention your expertise subtly.
• Example: “This is what we help CEOs with every day—DM me if you’re thinking about it.”
🚀 Action Step:
Write a LinkedIn post using this formula: Strong Hook → Skimmable Content → Clear CTA.
Need ideas? Answer one of these:
• What’s one mistake your clients make (and how do they fix it)?
• What’s one hard lesson you learned in your career?
• What’s an industry trend no one is talking about?
